One cholesterol-lowering Earth food that is gaining popularity is fresh
Garlic. Medical reports show that it can lower LDL cholesterol levels
(a.k.a., "bad") while increasing HDL levels (a.k.a., "good"). Studies
further show that fresh, uncooked Garlic clove can reduce cholesterol
and triglycerides by up to 15% (1-2 tbsp a day of organic Cinnamon also
lowers triglycerides, for those not fond of Garlic). Garlic prevents
oxidation of LDL and thus limits the build up of arterial plaque. Many
studies show that the equivalent of one clove of garlic a day (or half
an Onion) lowers total cholesterol levels by 10 to 15 percent in most
people. In another study, people who were given 800 milligrams (about
one clove) of Garlic daily experienced lower cholesterol levels as well
as lower blood pressure.
