Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Treatment

Alcoholic fatty liver disease not unlike other forms of fatty liver is reversible. When the cause of fatty liver is alcohol, it is more likely to develop into cirrhosis and cancer, so it is very important to reverse it and prevent it from haunting you again.
Alcohol damages your liver cells by overloading them with work. When that happens fat accumulates inside them because they can't handle taking care of both fat and alcohol (fatty liver, or steatosis stage). As more fat accumulates, less damage the liver can endure and cells start to die and be replaced by fibrotic tissue (cirrhosis stage). Fibrotic tissue does not function and leads to chronic liver failure. Damage to the liver also increases the probability of developing cancer.
But even when you already have alcoholic fatty liver disease, treatment is possible. The first step is, of course, reducing alcohol intake or, better yet, remove it completely. Alcohol not only damages your liver directly, but it is causes malabsorption of nutrients essential for liver recovery.
The next step is adjusting your diet. Make sure you eat a balanced diet and, if at all possible, become vegetarian. Meat, fish, eggs, and milk put extra load on the liver, which you want to avoid. On the other hand, fruit, vegetables, grains, and beans are rich in nutrients and poor in calories, providing the nutrients necessary for liver regeneration while keeping calories low to signal the liver to burn the fat inside it.
Finally, one last step is taking supplements. A few herbs have been proven to cause liver regeneration and fight liver cancer, and they have healed people with steatosis, cirrhosis and even liver cancer. The most important of these are milk thistle, and artichoke, but the list is very long. You can either try to take one supplement of each or, better yet, use one of the many combinations available.
Alcoholic fatty liver disease treatment is one of the best steps you can take towards health. It is beneficial for everyone who takes, or took, alcohol, because even moderate amount have been shown to cause some degree of liver damage.

How to Get Rid of Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is a vicious circle which is enslaving many with its deadly grip. To break free from this needs lots of organized effort and will power from the part of the addict as well as well wishers.
Addiction recovery is not that easy. It is a rough road. Many a times an addict finds himself in despair. He starts showing destructive, addictive behavior all the more. Withdrawal symptoms are difficult to handle. But even though they are tackled efficiently, if the addict is not taught coping skills, he may not be able to lead a decent life in the society. And the stark reality is that once they are not able to adjust with the new life and society, they return to the familiarity of their earlier addiction.
Mostly drugs like methadone are given to ease the symptoms of withdrawal. In fact, here one medicinal drug is replaced with another in case results are not seen immediately. The net result is that the recovering adult is still dependent on chemicals. Hence it is better to help the addict go through the withdrawal process naturally.
The first step in drug rehabilitation program is detoxification. Here the addict stops all drugs and begins rebuilding his health. Vitamin and mineral supplements provided along with relaxing exercises calm muscles and mental agony. Afterwards private sittings through one-on-one contacts help to solve the emotional instability. Lasting relief through this is possible in the hands of a trained professional. This second step is called Therapy, where the mind and body learn to adjust with the withdrawal from the chemicals they were reliant on.
The third step is called Integration, where the individual learns to cope with drug free life. Thus he is once again brought back into the society.
In order to get rid of drugs the basic thing that an addict should do is to admit that he cannot control his addiction. He should admit that he needs help. It is always better to rely upon a super power, which can give him strength. The person on the path of recovery should be motivated to examine his past mistakes so that he can take remedial steps. A new life style must be inculcated in him so that he learns to live a new life. Finally, the erstwhile addicts would be of immense help to recover those who suffer from the same addictions.
There are certain holistic treatment attempts which address the root cause of an individual's addiction. Such treatments provide them with opportunity to learn new job and life skills. Relapse can be prevented by helping the person to start a new life in the society. The important thing is to boost up the confidence of the individual so that he can come back to the society and serve it constructively.

How To Get Over A Hangover

**Hopefully no one under 21 is reading this... but for those of you over 21 keep reading**
Allow me to set the situation: It's Memorial Day weekend and some how you get talked into going to $5 margarita night at the Mexican restaurant with your sister. You get there, and immediately hit the bar. Soon the margaritas are flowing, and your feeling the oh so sweet effects of alcohol. You and some random guy at the bar began racing to see who can finish their margaritas the fastest. Before you know it you find yourself engaged in a tug of war match over a polo shirt that he was once wearing, just seconds prior to him stripping down to his wife beater. (this really happened) Now, at this point you may not be thinking of the major hangover that you will have in the morning... However your body has already started the hangover process
How? well once you stop drinking your brain cells go into an automatic withdrawal due to your alcohol levels slowly dropping. As you all know, or may not know, alcohol is a diuretic which means you start running back and forth to the bathroom. Dehydration will soon follow causing you to have a headache, fatigue, and nausea...
Finally a remedy!
I will give you my post Memorial Day debacle remedy.
First, chase every drink with a glass of water. Why?? Because as I said before alcohol causes dehydration, so drinking water after every shot will put important nutrients back into your body.
Second, pop 2 Advil or Tylenol as soon as you get home! Why?? This will stop that pounding headache, and puffy eyes.
And third, take a Dramamine pill. Why?? Well if you're anything like me, you get nauseous fast! Dramamine will stop that achingly, annoying urge to vomit, plus it will help you sleep it off.
More Tips!
Eat, Eat, and Eat... make sure you do not drink on an empty stomach! Because it will allow the alcohol to enter your bloodstream much faster. My personal suggestion would be to scarf down a few pieces of bread before drinking.
Keep moving! Have you ever noticed when your drinking that you feel fine until you sit down?? Yes, it happens to the best of us, so just keep moving! This includes doing the Harlem Shake, the Dougie, or any other form of ridiculous dancing.
Last but not least know your limits, everyone's body metabolizes alcohol at a different rate so stay in YOUR alcohol lane!
**DRINK RESPONSIBLY**

How To Get Rid Of A Hangover

It was a night you imbibed with your friends, happy and feeling wonderful. Now, why do you need to suffer from nausea and headache the next day? This should not be. However, your body is dehydrated due to the alcohol you take in the night before, you need to get rid of your hangover immediately.
What you usually do?
· Take another alcoholic drink in the morning. This is because you believe this to be the solution, but no, it is not. Taking another drink the morning after is a shortcut to alcoholism.
· Take an aspirin to reduce the headache. This is also not good because you subject your kidney to serious damage because alcohol and aspirin do not blend well.
· Stay in bed. This may not be good as well; it is better if you take a walk to help your system metabolize the alcohol. Exercise is actually best.
Tips to get rid of hangover
· Drink plenty of water; this will bring back your system to a hydrated state.
· Drink a cup of coffee. The caffeine in coffee will help reduce your swollen blood vessels. Inflammation of the blood vessels is the cause of hangover.
· Take a bowl of hot chicken soup. The salt and potassium in the chicken soup will help you overcome queasiness.
· You may also take fruit juice to help in metabolizing the alcohol in your blood.
· Eat crackers or muffin. If you take mild food with honey, it will be more helpful. This is because honey will help you breakdown the alcohol and speed its metabolism.
Again, I may need to emphasize here that you need to drink plenty of water. You will need to rehydrate your body and so water is your best bet.
Your hangover will be gone on or before 24 hours, if you however feel that your hangover is still there after this period, you may need to see your health professional for advice.
Finally, apples, bananas and Vitamin B-complex will help you restore the energy you lost the night you are imbibing. Taking them will help get rid of your hangover easily. Never take pain relievers; it may lead to serious health problems in the future.
Have fun but as my folks said, "having too much of anything may not be good for you", this is especially so for alcohol.
