Urinary Tract Home Remedy - 5 Ways to Treat Your Infection Naturally From Home

I recently got an e-mail asking, 'What is the best urinary tract home remedy?' I thought about this question for a bit and responded to this curious U.T.I. sufferer, "A remedy that is researched!"
Obviously, I gave the guy some tips at which ones he should try first. But I think that many of us do not realize that natural health is also a researched treatment. Believe it or not, many people think that natural remedies have not been researched. This is far from the truth! Natural remedy research is at an all-time high! Many remedies have been found legitimate and others have been found completely bunk.
When looking for a urinary tract home remedy, it is important that you know you are finding research ones! Here are some simple tips to treat your infection from your home... naturally!
5 Tips to Cure Urinary Tract Infection
1. Research has all agreed that urinary tract infections are caused by a bacterial infection (usually E coli) that is infecting the urinary tract. All treatments that cure this type of infection must either kill or flush the infection from the body. Antibiotics take the approach of killing all 'good' and 'bad' bacteria. (This is why antibiotics can cause more harm than good.)
Most natural remedies take the approach of flushing the 'bad' bacteria.
You can do this very easily by flushing your bladder and your body. Tip 1 would be to drink plenty of water throughout the day. A good goal would be half your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 150 lbs, you should drink 75 ounces of water per day.
2. Your diet is also paramount in treating your urinary infection naturally. Typically, high water soluble dietary fiber foods (fruits and vegetables) are great because they flush your body. Here is a great list of foods you should start supplementing today: spinach, potatoes, yams, zucchini, squash, onions, broccoli, eggplant, green beans, avocado, grapes, pears and apples.
3. Echinacea is a great herb to begin supplementing as soon as possible. Echinacea is often referred to as the wonder drug of herbs. It is used to treat everything from the common cold to the flu, and it also fights off urinary tract infections. Research shows that Echinacea will boost your immune system and help the body fight off bacterial infections.
4. Along with Echinacea, it would also be a great idea to begin supplementing vitamin C. This vitamin is very important for a healthy immunity. During an infection, this could be the most important vitamin you supplement.
5. Finally, do NOT eat cranberries or drink cranberry juice till you are red in the face. You may have heard that cranberries have a compound which helps flush urinary tract infections. However, you can also do much harm to your infection by consuming too much acid.

Green Tea As a Home Remedy For Bladder Infection

A home remedy for bladder infection includes drinking plenty of water. Eight glasses a day is minimum, more if you're active. Some women stop drinking water because it hurts to urinate. You also need to consider drinking green tea everyday. Green tea flushes out the toxins in your body. Try drinking high quality organic green tea and not the flavored green teas which are loaded with sugar.
The polyphenols in green tea inhibit the growth of both major classes of bacteria: Gram-positive and Gram-negative.
Green tea has been considered a natural cure for bladder infection because of it's ability to inhibit infections plus it contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants needed for a healthy body.
To combat a bladder infection, you need to take measures to improve your overall immunity. You also need to target those bacteria and see if you can get rid of them as soon as they come back again.
Make sure you're managing stress well because stress weakens your immune system and lowers your defenses against bacteria.
Regular exercise such as kegel exercises can help overcome urinary incontinence.
Eating better all the time should be your ultimate goal in order to prevent future infections. Many women experience bladder irritation because of certain foods or drinks. These include carbonated beverages, spicy foods, citrus fruits, strawberries, tomatoes, and vinegar.
If you experience chronic infection at the time of menstruation, avoid using tampons and use pads instead. And stay clean. Change your pad as often as needed.
Taking a good quality multivitamin daily is a step in the right direction. I also recommend yoga, breathing exercises, and meditation.
Cranberry really does help prevent the occurrence of UTI's. Look for 100% juice kind. Some only has 20 or 30% juice.
So, together with a good multivitamin, cranberry juice, plenty of water and green tea, you should be on your way to a healthy bladder.

Urinary Tract Infection - UTI Symptoms and Natural Remedies

A Urinary Tract Infection or UTI is an infection that can happen anywhere along the urinary tract which includes the bladder, kidneys, urethra, and the ureters. While men do get Urinary Tract Infections, they are more common among women because the female urethra is shorter and closer to the anus. UTIs, are a serious health problem affecting millions of people each year.
The bacterial infection known as Cystitus occurs when the lower tract becomes infected by bacteria. The majority of these Cystitus cases are caused by E coli, a bacteria in the lower digestive tract. Other risk factors for Cystitus include blockage of the bladder, pregnancy, and diabetes.
Microorganisms like Chlamydia and Mycoplasma may also cause UTIs in both men and women, but these infections are usually limited to the urethra and reproductive system. Sexual intercourse may increase the risk of developing a UTI, which is just another of the many good reasons for condom use.
In order to avoid an infection it's important to drink plenty of fluids because when you urinate, you help remove bacteria from the bladder. However, do not drink fluids that tend to irritate the bladder like alcohol or caffeine. If bacteria is allowed to grow faster than it is removed by urination, an infection is the result. Women should always keep their genital areas clean by wiping from front to back in order to reduce the chance of transferring bacteria from the rectal area to the urethra.
In addition, urinating immediately after sexual intercourse may help eliminate any bacteria that might have been introduced during intercourse. If you do not urinate for a long period of time, you are giving the bacteria time to multiply. Frequent urination could possibly reduce the risk of cystitis in people who suffer from frequent Urinary Tract Infections.
