All babies have the same right to get golden benefits of breast milk, whether their mothers are stay at home-mothers or working ones.
Unfortunately, not all working mothers are lucky enough to have a place to support breastfeeding near their work station. So, the best and maybe the only solution for them is by pumping and storing milk which allow baby to have a supply of milk when it is needed. This article will help mother to prepare and manage breastfeeding by pumping and storing their milk.
It's not easy to maintain breast milk's supply for the baby while mother is at the office. Therefore, mother need to do some preparations before returning to work, such as developing breastfeeding skills for both mother and baby. It is essential to create a steady breastfeeding pattern.
Once a regular breastfeeding pattern has been developed, mother can start introducing baby to bottle feeding filled with expressed milk. This gives mother some time to introduce her baby a new feeding habits.
If a mother decides to use breast pump, she has to start searching for the best breast pump which is comfortable to use and allows her to collect breast milk in a reasonable period of time.
Mother should start pumping at least 2 weeks before going back to work in order to build up a supply of frozen milk.
When it's time to leave the baby for work, never forget to nurse the

Below are some tips of collecting, handling and storing breast milk: - Don't forget to wash hands before expressing or pumping milk. - Use 2-3 ounce bottles or hard plastic cups with caps that fit tightly such as screw cup. - You better not use everyday plastic bags or formula bottle bags because they may leak. - Don't forget to date the milk before storing. - Fresh milk can be kept at room temperature for up to 8 hours and refrigerated for 5-7 days. - Breast milk can be kept for 6 months in a deep freezer at constant 0 degrees. - If the freezer compartment is located inside the refrigerator, expressed milk can be kept for 2 weeks. - Frozen and thawed milk can be refrigerated for up to 9 hours, but they should not be refrozen. - Do not put frozen milk in the microwave while overheating destroys valuable breast milk nutrients. - You can thaw frozen breast milk by putting it in the refrigerator or in a bowl of warm water. - Do not save milk from a bottle that has been used. - Never mix fresh milk with frozen one.
With a proper scheduling of collecting and storing expressed breast milk, many mothers have proved to successfully nurse their babies although they have to leave their baby for work, until it comes the time when they have to start weaning from breastfeeding.
